Berlin is a fantastic place to explore by foot or by bike and besides the well-known major sights, there are a number of local places of interest. Innovative gallery and cultural space, Savvy Contemporary, is a 15 min walk away, as is Silent Green, home to the Arsenal Film Archive (nothing to do with the football club) plus regular film and concert series - it also hosts a delicious brunch spot. If you want something fancy Michelin-starred Ernst and its sister bistro Julius are just across the street from Silent Green. The Berlin Mauer Museum is a 25 min walk or 5 min by train. The Museum Island which houses the Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Altenationalgalerie, Pergamonmuseum, and Bode-Museum is easily accessible (20 min max by train or 40 min leisurely walk along the canals). Berlin also hosts a number of arts festivals throughout the year which take place across the city - there are too many to list, but a few of them are: Berlinale, Maerz Music, Berlin Festspiele, Tanz im August, Posie Fest, CTM festival.
